Psychodynamic Counselling
Sessions in Basingstoke, and online
Who counselling helps
Counselling can support people through many different challenges, including anxiety, stress, low mood, and the impact of difficult past experiences. It can also help if you find yourself stuck in unhelpful patterns or struggling with low self-esteem.
You don’t need to be able to put into words exactly what feels wrong. Sometimes it’s simply a sense that things aren’t right, or that life feels harder than it should. Together, we can explore those feelings at your own pace, finding clarity as we go.
I have a particular interest in working with neurodivergent clients, as well as those affected by miscarriage, child loss, or pre- and post-natal depression. These experiences can be deeply isolating, and counselling provides a safe space to be heard and supported.
About me
I’m Eleanor, a psychodynamic counsellor and founder of Elea Counselling. I work with adults in Basingstoke, and online. I offer a calm and compassionate space where you can bring whatever feels important, whether or not you have the words for it yet. I am a registered member of the BACP and practise in line with their Ethical Framework. I aim to meet each person with warmth, curiosity and care.
What to expect
Beginning counselling can feel like a big step, so I offer a short initial phone call to help us talk through what is bringing you here and to answer any questions you might have.
If we both feel it could be helpful to meet, the next step is an initial consultation, where we can think together about what you would like from counselling and how we might work together. There is no need to prepare anything or know exactly what you want to say — we can begin wherever you are.
Sessions then take place weekly at an agreed time and last 50 minutes. You can find details about fees and locations on my Practical Info page.
Where I work
I offer counselling in person in Basingstoke, and also offer online sessions across the UK. In-person sessions take place in a warm, private setting, and online sessions are held via a secure video platform.
Please note that my in-person location does not currently have step-free access. I’m happy to talk through any access needs so that we can find a way of working that feels right for you.
